– My “The Mandalorian and Grogu” Movie Review …

—》》My #TheMandalorianAndGrogu (“M & G”) #moviereview! First, my #Rating; 9 / 10 !- NOTE: i usually don’t do Review-Spoilers. BUT since I love #StarWars so much, I want a deeper discourse. So… SPOILERS ahead…–> Fundamentally, M & G is an episodic installment of the streaming show from #DisneyPlus. Very beginning, it’s as if there were commercial breaks & the plot resumed… Not necessarily good nor bad. More preference & style. Me? I take my Star Wars (SW) drinks EPIC — there’s a galactic war; the rise of a movement of #Force -users in some uncharted planet…etc . That’s ok. The episodic approach WORKS for M & G! Generally, the series itself is not meant to be epic in scope.–> Connected to that first point is the Cultural aspect to the PRESENTATION of the movie, itself–i’m not talking about the #plot, nor the #characters., etc. I mean, the MOVIE: –the #music- #scoring was completely contemporary; with that “tribal” motif that’s known for #TheMandalorian show on Disney…Important, because it signifies a Cultural AND generational shift from MY generation–the first batch of SW fans from 1977! I know #KathleenKennedy, #DaveFiloni (*both of whom I met & saw, respectively, at 2 separate SW conventions!) , etc purposefully did this separation… it’s 2026, not 1981. Personally, I PREFER the old school Classical music by genius #JohnWilliams (saw him, too!), AND the Crawl-intros that is uniquely SW, but I understand WHY the SW bosses had to change approach…–> In a move i totally did not expect, M & G literally turned tables on the SW game of #dejarik–that chess-like game in the original Star Wars movie (ANH) when #C3PO was playing against #Chewbacca in the #MillenniumFalcon! #Mando finds himself in an arena where he’s battling aliens — & (most of them) they’re the same species (individuals-?) that we saw on that dejarik table!–> I DO like it when SW, or any other series, tie-in various characters, sub-plots, spinoff, etc. It was great seeing #Zeb in M & G! Excellent portrayal of Zeb, from the #Rebels series. It was created by David #Filoni several years ago &, imho, was key to keeping the SW momentum going between the 2010s SW movies, AND seemed to deflect SOME fans’ vitriol towards SW during the great Cultural Wars throughout the Western societies about Cultural diversity in the-then latest SW installments…–> Before ending this Review; any critiques from me? Yes…– Honestly, as a huge SW fan, I’ve never got into the cute or silly characters George Lucas liked to throw in from time-to-time: the Ewoks, Jar-Jar, Grogu … I prefer SW in the darker-mode in a key of Sith vs the Jedi! — Already discussed how I prefer Classical scoring over the Contemporary music. — Other than that, 9 / 10 from me, for The Mandalorian and Grogu!– Joseth Moore ; SciFi, Paranormal indie author.
