~ #DUNEPart2 – QUICK #MovieReview / #Rating (*A BIT #spoiler*):
— I’ll get this out of the way, 1st: i give it 10/10!
— #Dune2 did a great job in the continuation from Dune1–logical #sequel; some #movies‘ sequels are lazily made just for the $, but #DenisVilleneuve & #JonSpaihts script was well-thought out–i’m still reading Dune-#Messiah, #FrankHerbert‘s writing approach is classically detailed by today’s standards. Impressive Villeneuve & Spaihts were able to script the Dune series into a great movie-form!
All #actors did excellent job! And we should never take for granted how well any movie’s #cgi –especially in hard core #SciFi–is used!
Speaking of Messiah: Dune 2 did a good job in addressing factions amongst the #Fremen regarding seeing #paulatreides as some Messiah-figure.
Lastly, there’s a bit of movement online of comparing Dune 2 as a kind of #StarWars, in particular, post-#pandemic movie-slumps…for all practical purposes, given this cinematic slump worldwide, the Dune franchise is our Star Wars for these times. ~Joseth Moore
