~ Para-Events Blog no. 52: Annotation-entry: “Phantom”-Touch??
As some viewers & / or readers of my paranormal investigative blogs know, a few times i do what’s known as my “Annotation”-style of my investigations. That is, the event, or incident, that’s happened is unusual, BUT not so weird as to “justify” me doing a full-blown investigation. Said-event, still, reaches the barest of a threshold of what i consider worthwhile enough for me to investigate. Hence, why i’m only blogging it and not vlogging…
Setting, my job (i don’t identify workplace on social media–only that i’m a maintenance-tech). Friday, July 21, 2023. Approx. 5:35 AM. Premise: while at work, through most of the day i wear my RIGHT ear bud (Samsung Galaxy A53 5G phone, & Samsung Galaxy Buds2- products). Often i gently push the bud in my right ear since it feels like it’s about to slip out…
This particular day (mentioned above), as best that i remember it, i was wearing my LEFT earpiece. I was working in the freezer and tried to lightly push my earbud further into my ear–but, out of habit, i did it to my RIGHT ear–where i was not wearing my earbud there, but my LEFT earpiece. This is significant, because the way the technology works, it ‘boops’ when you push the Pause “button” (within earpiece), for either On OR Off…
As i remember, i HEARD THE BOOP SOUNDS, EVENTHOUGH I HAD NO EARBUD IN MY RIGHT EAR, BUT ON MY LEFT! This should be, literally, technically impossible!
I say, “Phantom”-Touch, as i borrowed from various reports of articles about people who’ve experienced (Dermnet NZ, “Phantom Vibration Syndrome,” August of 2022- -> https://dermnetnz.org/topics/phantom-vibration-syndrome#:~:text=Phantom%20vibration%20syndrome%20(PVS)%20refers,vibration%20that%20is%20not%20present. )
Key to what i’m talking about from the Dermnet article: “…described as a tactile hallucination as the brain perceives the vibration that is not present. This pseudo-sensation can lead to psycho-social symptoms…” It is possible, even likely, that is what i experienced. Point is, i should have not heard a “boop” sound. But, i promise you, i’m pretty certain i did!
